I think it would be cool to make it so when players are done with the tutorial they get offered to "Join a Local Alliance" and you automatically join the nearest alliance that has the "Auto Recruit" Enabled.

All alliances will start with this disabled and alliance leaders can change this at any time.

If there are no alliances that have it enabled a window will pop up (much like what happens when you catch a UFO) that will say "No alliance found, Cancel or create a new alliance."

What do you guys think? No harm done and it gives noobs and noob leaders a chance to socialize without spamming invites.


Edit: I think it will help keep players from quitting so early if they have a friend or two in the game :)


TWEAK: When you hit join local alliance a list pops up arranged top/bottom closest/furthest (according to Leader position) and you choose where you wanna go :P

I voted tweak, cause it sounds like it could be abused too easily, basically it'll be even easier to make multi alliances etc.

If it's automated the leader multi wouldnt even have to log back in to their acc to inv the others. I think it would work better as request to join local alliance function so that you dont get random noobs spamming colonies near an alliance which has auto join or what ever you called it turned on.

same the abusing thing and also i dont think it will stop newbs from quitting once they get in a newb alliance they still are probably gonna get conquered. Also in newb alliances not a lot of talking and communicating go on anyways they kinda just sit there... i dont think the friend making thing is gonna work :|

but i think it still is a great idea but still needs some thinking over :D
